Our bedtime routine has changed many times over the last four and a half years, since Austin was born. The one constant is that we all always get hugs and kisses.
Bedtime has gone from cuddles and rocking in a chair with Momma till little bodies relaxed in sleep as newborns and infants, to snuggles on the couch with Dadda, to into bed, lights off, sweet dreams my beautiful baby girl.
Bedtime routines have changed as our family has grown and each of our girls have grown and developed their own, very different personalities.
Austin has always been a snuggle-er, spending more time in bed with us or snuggling on the couch as a infant. There came a time when she would fall straight to sleep in her crib, but she always went for snuggles and cuddles first. When it came time to switch to a “big girl” bed she took to it without a problem… until it was time to get up. She would yell for someone to get her out of her bed. A bed she could easily get out of on her own. It took a couple weeks of waking up from naps and in the morning to convince her that she was able to get out on her own.
