I use my slow cooker all year long, in the summer to keep the heat out of the house, and in the winter for delicious soups and stews. Being able to toss ingredients into the slow cooker before we get started on our homeschool day or before heading out for the day saves a lot of time in the long run and frustration at supper time.

I like to be able to use my slow cooker for any type of meal: breakfast, supper, and desserts. While I tend to use it more for supper, we do have a few desserts that are incredibly good.
Last year we ended up using our slow cooker for our Thanksgiving turkey as our oven element gave out right before Thanksgiving. I am thinking we’ll be cooking it the same way again this year, it was just that good. And I’ll be sure to share the recipe!
