Best Places to Find Secular Curriculum

Where can you buy secular curriculum? There are a few different options for this one, especially when you consider your budget. Homeschooling doesn’t have to break the bank, though it is so easy to get carried away. I’m frugal lady, I like to get a lot of bang for my buck, which I feel is a typical scenario for homeschool families.

Be Frugal – Think Outside the Box

There are two great ways to save on curriculum if you are trying to be frugal, like me.

Library: The library is a great, FREE resource there for your use. I’ve made no excuse that we are big fans of going to the library, and using the resources available there. Literature based curriculum books can be found at your library, or least cut back on the number of books that you need to buy.

Our library also has workbooks available, not for marking in of course, but it’s a great way to check out what they are like before buying. There are pitfalls to homeschooling strictly from the library though.

Buy Used: There are a lot of options for buying used curriculum. Local groups, Facebook groups, other online sites.

Textbook Rentals from sites like Amazon, or Textbook Rental.

Curriculum Companies

There are so many different companies that you can buy from directly. It’s no secret that we have loved BookShark in the past, but they aren’t the only boxed secular curriculum option, but the only one we have used. You can buy directly from them. Whether you to buy a box curriculum or pick and choice what subjects you want.

More Options for Curriculum

Amazon. – I have some in my shop, but there are so many more out there I haven’t found yet.

Chapters Indigo (Big bookstore).

Walmart.

A dollar store near you. You’d be surprised at just what you can find there.

You just need books, some paper, pencils, just the basics and you can be homeschooling your kids.
