Simply Delicious Cinnamon Sugar Mini Donuts

These mini donuts are simple to make, but they are BIG on flavor. I am not normally a fan of cinnamon, but these, were perfect, not too much cinnamon in the mini donuts nor the sugar topping on these cinnamon sugar mini donuts. A fun, sweet treat after a long day of learning in your homeschool.

Donut Batter

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 3 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of margarine, melted
  • 1 tbsp of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs

Sugar Topping

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

How to make Cinnamon Sugar Mini Donut

You want to mix together your sugar topping in either a brown paper bag, to shake your donuts, or into a shallow dish so you can plop them nice and hot into the sugar so that it melts, and sticks to your donut. A brown bag going to work best but it is not something everyone has one hand.

Start with your dry ingredients in your bowl. Give it a little stir to mix it together.

Mix in your wet ingredients.

Plug in your mini donut maker, to get it preheated. Make sure that you use non-stick spray to prevent your mini donuts from sticking.

Our Bella Mini Donut maker is a little rough around its finish but it is well used now, and no longer sitting around collecting dust in the cupboard as it used to years ago.

I pour my cinnamon sugar mini donut batter into a Ziploc bag to pipe it into my mini donut maker without making a mess. I have shared exactly how I make mini donuts no matter what flavor you make. This would be a great recipe to use with a batter dispenser as well.

As soon as you take your mini donuts out of the molds, place them right onto your sugar. If you have a brown bag with sugar, shake gently. If you have a bowl of sugar press them into the sugar slightly. Don’t press too hard or you’ll flatten them.

Set your mini donuts out on a cooling rack until you are ready to serve. Honestly though, warm sugar donuts are the best!

These are one of our favorite afternoon treats. But just have a few so you don’t ruin your appetite for supper.

Ingredients

Donut Batter

Sugar Topping

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix together the sugar topping in a brown bag, OR in a shallow bowl..
  2. In our mixing bowl start by combining the dry ingredients, and then add the wet ingredients together.
  3. Pour cinnamon sugar mini donut batter into a Ziploc bag to pipe it into your mini donut maker without making a mess.
  4. Close to cook.
  5. As soon as you take your mini donuts out of the molds, place them right onto your sugar, and press them in slightly. Don't press too hard so you don't flatten them.
  6. Set out on a cooling rack to cool, and serve.
