Simple Mini Donuts Maker Recipe

by Ashley Mullen 1 Comment

There are a couple small appliances in our home that don’t get the attention that they deserve. One is our blender. The other our mini donut maker. I am not the world’s greatest donut baker/maker, just a Momma who likes making things (including food) for her family.

I like to share our favorite recipes as we go here on Forgetful Momma. These simple mini donuts are a hit in my house and my kids want them all the time.

My Bella donut maker is no longer sitting around and collecting dust.

My kids LOVE these mini donuts, and I love that they take hardy anytime at all to make.

Bella Mini Donut Maker

What you need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How to make Simple Mini Donut for donut maker:

After I mix all the ingredients together I place a large Ziploc bag, corner first, into a mug. I then pour my batter into a ziploc bag.

Making Mini donuts

This makes it like a piping bag. Which is a great way to simply pour/fill the mini donut maker molds.

This has proven to be the easiest, and quickest way for me to make mini donuts. And with relatively no mess.

Making Mini donuts

This recipe is for plain Jane vanilla donuts, but I make all mini donuts in the same way.

Mix, bag, squeeze, close to cook. The mix tends to be thick, which makes for filling the mold in the machine to be super easy and less messy as well.

How to make Donuts in A Donut Maker

You can learn from my mistakes. Mistake number one: cutting the hole in my bag too big. This caused our mini donuts to have no holes and a few others to be under cooked.

But don’t cut that hole too small either, because then you won’t be able to get the mix out, or will end up squeezing your bag too hard and popping a hold in it.

You can find my post on how I use my mini donut maker here and see exactly how I make them without making mess.

The great thing about this donuts is you can have an flavor icing you desire, we chose a maple flavored, homemade, wet/runny enough that I just dipped them in. My version of a Maple Dip from Tim Horton’s.

These are something that your kids can make themselves too without having to worry about them being near a hot oven.

Let your kids get in the kitchen and make delicious and fun snack for them and their friends.

We recently made chocolate mini donuts in our mini donut maker. They were, the best mini donuts EVER! I love them and couldn’t stop eating them. I am a chocolate lover but, my kids loved these too. Make sure you check them out too.

Instructions

  1. Mix together well.
  2. I always pour my batter into a ziploc bag. Place a bottom corner in a large mug.

We have been loving our little donuts during rainy spring days while we watch documentaries on whatever topic we are learning about in our homeschool.

Snacks always make learning more fun. We’re currently watching a series on Netflix called Drain the Oceans.

Where to Buy Donut Makers?

I bought my donut maker at my local Wal-Mart and you definitely can still get one there. Another place that you can buy a donut maker would be Amazon. Great prices, and delivered to you at home.

While this week starts the first of the Spring season there are still bluntly of cold and cool mornings left. Kellogg’s Mini Wheats are heating thing up.

Have you tried your Mini Wheats hot yet? When served with warm milk this family favorite cereal is a wholesome way to warm up in the early spring chill. Just warm up your favorite milk, regular, chocolate, soy, almond, whatever your choice may be.

Kellogg’s Mini Wheats warmed up are a great way to warm up first thing in the mornings before sending kids off to the bus stop first thing in the morning when mornings are still chilly… we’re suppose to get 10 cm of snow tomorrow morning, ugh!

Keeping Your Pets Healthy – #DentalPetFacts

by Ashley Mullen Leave a Comment

As a pet owner I take care of all my animals needs just as I do my children. And just as I make sure my children are getting their teeth brushed and see the dentist, I’m making sure that my cats and dog have good dental health as well with check up with our veterinarian.

According to the survey, conducted on behalf of Royal Canin, while nine in ten Canadian pet owners believe dental disease is linked to their pet’s overall health, a quarter of them are unaware of the clinical signs of the disease

Pet owners don’t always recognize the signs of dental diseases. Pets may not show obvious signs of discomfort because these are gradual changes — and cats and dogs tend to hide their pain. Signs of dental disease may include: bad breath, lost teeth and excessive drooling.

Dental diseases are present in nearly 85 per cent of all pets past the age of three. And small dogs are especially prone to dental disease. [Read more…] about Keeping Your Pets Healthy – #DentalPetFacts
