Air Fryer Apple Fries

by Ashley Mullen Leave a Comment

My kids love apples. They eat them as fast as I buy them, they don’t care what kind as long as they can eat them. Typically they are grabbing one from the fridge and biting in, nothing special, but sometimes it’s fun to do something different. Like these air fryer apple fries.

I did not want an air fryer, in fact, I fought getting one for a number of years because I just couldn’t see us using one enough to justify the cost, and the space that it would take in our kitchen. I was wrong. See there, I admit it, I definitely change my mind since we got ours at the beginning of summer. This apple fries are just one of the many things that we love making in our air fryer now.

What you need:

  • 3 large sweet apples
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • caramel sauce for dipping

How to make Air Fryer Apple Fries

This recipe is super easy to make, your kids might just be able to do it themselves, with supervision of course.

Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees, in my case, I ran it for a few minutes at that temperature to preheat.

Peel, and cut your apples into wedges, removing the core. The thinner you slice your apples the quicker they will cook inside while you wait for the outside to cook.

Toss your apple slides in flour, covering them completely.

Beat eggs and water together in a shallow bowl.

Mix together grahman cracker crumbs and sugar in another shallow bowl.

Air Fryer Apple Fries prep

Spray the inside of your air fryer with non-stick spray.

Dredge the floured apple pieces in the beaten eggs. Then roll the apple pieces in the sugar/crushed graham cracker mixture. Place into the air fryer. You do not want them to overlap.

Spray the apple pieces with a light coat of non-stick spray.

Air fry the apples in batches at 380 degrees for 5 minutes then turn the apple pieces over and for an additional 2 minutes.
