Homemade Donair Poutine Recipe

by Ashley Mullen Leave a Comment

I feel like I have been on a fast food craving kick lately. I want pizza, I want French fries, and burgers, and donairs. And to be completely honest, I don’t really want to make any of it myself. But, this donair poutine recipe was really perfect to curb my cravings and it took no time at all to make. And everyone loved it.

We love donair everything, which is probably why we have two different donair sauce recipes that we use interchangeably. Because I can never remember which milk I was suppose to buy to make it.

What you need:

  • French fries – we used a bag from the store but you can definitely use homemade too, I was being lazy
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • donair sauce or this sweeter donair sauce, it’s up to you
  • donair meat

How to make Donair Poutine

Make French fries either according to the directions on the bag, or make your own home fries.

Cook donair meat while the fries are baking. While the donair meat and fries cook make donair sauce and a shred cheese.

Once everything is cooked it is time to assemble.

On each plate or bowl, you want to place a serving of fries, donair meat.

Something that was being searched for here was donair fries. And while I think French fries dipped in donair sauce is great, amazing in fact, but we wanted to step it up a little and make a donair poutine. This disappeared so fast, I couldn’t believe it.

No this is not an actual donair, but it is tasty, like super tasty. Have some fun, try something new, something like this donair poutine. I was extremely surprised at just how tasty this was between the donair sauce and the donair meat.
