If my husband wants to buy me a chocolate treat, he buys me Reese Peanut Butter Cups. They have been my favorite chocolate bar for as long as I can remember. Making a single serve one as a treat for myself seems like a no brainer… why did it take me so long to make a peanut butter butter cup for one?

I have made a few of these for myself now. Usually as my kids are getting ready for bed, so I can pop it in the freeze and then once they are in bed, I get a treat as I settle down to watch something on Netflix.

Just make sure you don’t forget it in the freezer.

What you need:

  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugarhttps://amzn.to/37cTv7a
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

How to make a Peanut Butter Cup for One

This is simple to make. I use an expresso cup to make mine because of the perfect small size of it.

Place peanut butter in the cup, and microwave for 15 seconds to melt the peanut butter.

Mix in the tablespoon of powdered sugar, mix it well. My powdered sugar is lumpy so it was hard to mix it all in but that did not affect the taste at all.

Add the two tablespoons of chocolate chips on top, if you can spread over the top as you add them on top, then great, makes it a little easier in the next step.

Using milk chocolate is my favorite chocolate chip to use. But use what you have.

Microwave for 45 second to a minute. Once the chocolate chips are melted, spread evenly over the peanut butter and then freeze for about 15 minutes… assuming you can wait that long.

This tastes just like a peanut butter cup. You can customize it to suit your taste as you’d like. Personally, I like more peanut butter than chocolate in mine, so I go lighter on the chocolate chips using only 1 tbsp usually, but my husband prefers the two tablespoons.

This treat has taken the place of my other favorite: peanut butter cookie dough.
