All Fish Faces Picture Book

We are big ocean fans here, I grew up on the Atlantic Ocean coast with beaches and the ocean as my playground. Asking my kids if they want to learn more on a topic like fish, is a crazy question because I know the answer is going to be yes. All Fish Faces has been a great addition to our homeschool library.

These fish are a little different than the fish we see around here, as the ones featured in this book are tropical reef fish. This book, All Fish Faces: Photos & Fun Facts about Tropical Reef Fish, covers a lot of great information about fish in the Tropical Reef and about climate change. It’s always fun to learn about new animals in our home.

As a scuba diver, Tam Warner Minton combined her passion for diving with her love for marine life to capture beautiful images of some of the most colorful fish in the world. The bright, close-up pictures featured in this picture book are amazing real-life, underwater photos of fish in oceans and seas around the world, taken by the author herself.

All Fish Faces Educational Ocean Life

Do your kids wonder what the differences are different fish and mammals are? Besides the difference of fish living in the water. Open this book up with your kids and dive in to learn more.

This is a fun, and bright book to read with your kids. It makes a great addition to your science curriculum when you start to cover marine life.

Each of the types of fish covered in this book tells you a little bit more about them besides the typical “this is a pufferfish”. It gives your child some great, fun, and interesting facts, which my three kids are all about. Facts that include how they act when protecting their nest or young. You’ll also learn about how some fish camouflage.

Some of the fish that this book introduces you to include:

  • Pufferfish
  • Angelfish
  • Butterflyfish
  • Parrotfish
  • Tiggerfish
  • Filefish
  • Frogfish
  • Splendid Toadfish

Elementary Science Climate Change

There is one page in the book that really touches on something serious, climate change, or global warming. Which is in reference to the fact that our planet is getting warmer and how it affects the oceans and all life that lives in the oceans.

This book talks a little about how we can help save and protect those planets and animals in the ocean each day. This would be a great family project to work on with your kids.

If you are looking for more fun to go along with this book, author Tam Warner Minton has you covered with some activity and coloring pages.
