What We Read in June

I want to try something a little different for the end of the month, I want to share what we read, because sometimes it’s hard to figure out what you want to read next. I like to see what others have read to see if maybe I’ll like it too, that’s how I have found some amazing books.

This is not every books we read in the month of June, though it probably is for me sadly. My kids read way too many books for me to keep track of.

What I Read in June

The Silent PatientThe Silent Patient is a shocking psychological thriller of a woman’s act of violence against her husband―and of the therapist obsessed with uncovering her motive.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?

Motherhood Smotherhood – What’s the first thing a woman does when she thinks she might be pregnant? She Googles. And it goes downhill from there. While the internet is full of calming and cheerily supportive articles, it’s also littered with hyper-judgmental message boards and heaps of contradictory and scolding information.

Surrender to the Highlander – Edith Drummond owes her life to Niels Buchanan and his brothers. Waking after an illness to a castle overrun by rugged Highlanders is disconcerting, but so is learning that she’s slowly being poisoned. Niels insists on staying by her side, and Edith soon discovers that even more dangerous is her wild attraction to the fierce warrior.

12 Week Year – Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a twelve-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking.

What My Kids Read in June

The Berenstain bears and the Trouble with Friends – Come for a visit in Bear Country with this classic First Time Book® from Stan and Jan Berenstain. A new cub, Lizzie, has moved to town and Sister can’t wait to become her friend. But when bossiness enters the mix, Sister and Lizzie’s new friendship might be in trouble.

The Berenstain Bears Sick Days – Sister is home sick from school. Mama wants to take good care of her so she can get well quickly. It turns out that keeping Sister happy all day long is no small job! Soon both Sister and Mama are more than ready for a return to school.

Garfield Hits the Big Time – Garfield, the world’s favorite feline, marks the 25th book in his series with this volume full of side-splitting classic comics! And after all this time, Garfield’s earned some extra sleep. But he’ll still move a muscle for meals and mayhem! Whether he’s hogging Jon’s chair or hog-tieing Odie, Garfield shows us how to grow old disgracefully!

Hound Health Handbook – America is going to the dogs. And, judging by the $7 billion we spend each year on veterinary services, and the $3 billion on prescription medicines, we will do anything to take care of our beloved pets. Now there’s a bible that belongs in every dog owner’s home–a clear, comprehensive, trustworthy guide.

The American Animal Hospital Association Encyclopedia of Dog Health and Care – A complete guide to choosing and caring for a dog includes information on breeds, curbing chewing and aggressive behavior, cleaning various coats, caring for pregnant or elderly dogs, treating health problems, and what to do in an emergency.

This is Captain MarvelThis Is Captain America introduces readers ages 4-6 to the world of Marvel’s patriotic Super Hero Steve Rogers, otherwise known as Captain America!
