Hubby is kind of the pizza king in our home, with Gauge being the prince of course. Over the last few months we’ve been eating pizza just about every weekend, and if not on the weekend then the king and prince are making it while the girls and I are at gymnastics.

Hubby has created his own pizza sauce recipe (with a lot of trial and error, too much celery spice = gross), his pizza dough, is to die for. I personally love it with just a little spice and Parmesan, no pizza sauce or toppings at all.

Today I’m sharing his recipe for pizza dough, with his permission of course.

What you need:

  • 1/2 tbsp yeast
  • 1 C warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic power
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 1/2 C flour
  • 2 tbsp EVOO

How to make homemade Pizza Dough:

Add together in a mixing bowl your sugar, warm water and yeast. Let it sit for at least 5 minutes to active or until it is foamy.

Once it has activated add in the remaining ingredients and mix with a large mixer using a dough hook. It will become elastic, mix it until this happens, don’t stop at the first sign of being mixed.

Roll it out over your pan, make sure you grease your pan or it just might stick!

Cook your pizza at 425 til it is cooked how you like it.
