6 Homeschool Goals for Success

When it comes to homeschooling, one of the most important things you can do for your child’s success is to set goals. By taking the time to sit down and figure out what you hope to achieve with homeschooling, you can create a road map for success. Here are five tips for setting effective homeschool goals.

Goal #1: Learn a new language

Maybe you don’t speak a second language, but you and your kids still can learn together. I just learned our library offers the use of Rosetta Stone, go check and see if your library offers something to help with learning/mastering a language.

Also, check out this post on learning French – frugal resources.

Goal #2: Create healthy habits

Yoga promotes healthy habits in a fun and active way and reaps benefits like balance, focus, flexibility, self-control, improved posture, and so many more healthy habits. My kids enjoy Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube.

Goal #3: Keep the house clean

Enough said. Chores are a great way to learn life skills.

Goal #4: Be more creative

Kids have to have time to be creative. With all the social stresses and studying, leave room for fun. Whether it be learning a new skill, journaling, or starting to play an instrument – encourage creativity!

Goal #5: Get hands-on

Lessons are more fun when you get your hands a little dirty. Take reading lessons outside, do a weekly science experiment. One of the best ways to include science experiments is when learning about just about anything. Learning about animals? How do arctic animals stay warm? Try this experiment to find out!

Add science fun to your weekend projects when everyone can get involved.

Homeschool Goal #6: Learn new tech skills

Your kids might already spend a lot of time in front of a screen, but is that screen time educational? Use those hours to learn new tech skills! If your kids are already enjoying Minecraft, consider introducing them to other ways of learning code.
