I am 28 years old. I am married to a wonderful man. I am the mother to three healthy, beautiful children. I am healthy and happy. And I am getting grey hairs.
Over the past two weeks I have pulled four grey hairs from my head, at my temples. Yes I know the old wives tale of “if you pull out a grey hair then three more will grow in its place”. Why am I pulling them out? Because I’m just that vain, I guess.
While I think that I am pretty damn lucky and have a pretty damn good life, I don’t want to get older, and I certainly don’t want grey hairs popping out. I’m only 28 for crying out loud! I totally blaming this on Gauge. He is so busy and getting faster on his knees, I don’t know what I’m going to do when he starts walking. He doesn’t let me get a whole lot of sleep each night. But I love him.
I already dye my hair, not consistently, just whenever the mood strikes. Right now I am a brunette so very color to my natural color. I rather like it, but there is already a box of dye, auburn red, in my bathroom closet. It will be getting used very soon. I’ll be dying my hair more consistently from now on.
(Please excuse that I was in the middle of changing my nail polish color when I noticed the lastest offender.)
I remember hearing that if you dye your hair while you are young, you’ll get grey hairs sooner. Well, I guess all those boxes of dye since I turned about 16 have come back to bite me in the butt.
And I had to look up the correct spelling of grey, or apparently in the US gray. Why must there be different ways to spell the same word? I am not the best speller, spell check is my best friend, therefore, English and American spelling is just confusing me. Rant, over.
Do you dye your hair?
