I am not going to preach breastfeeding to anyone. I don’t care if your breastfeed or formula feed your baby as long as your feeding your baby who cares, its up to you. But I did see this in my hospital room when I had Gauge. Kinda cool to thing about it: Breastfeeding Savings Plan.I know that it is quite hard to read so I wrote it down.
1 week — mircowave
2 weeks — car seat
1 month — stroller
6 weeks — 1 month of groceries for a family of 3
2 months — digital camera
3 months — refrigerator or stove
4 months — 1 months rent or mortgage payment
5 months — a home computer
6 months — washer & dryer
7 months — 1 year’s electricity
9 months — down payment on car
1 year — family vacation
I don’t know how accurate this is, but I thought it was food for thought.
According to this I saved about enough for a stove or fridge … I know my new stove did cost about $500 and if I was going by the current price of formula it would be about $480ish for a few months formula feed.
I guess I paid off that new stove.
I’d love to hear how much you saved.
