Today, day three, we did a Christmas craft I had seen on Pinterest last year and couldn’t wait to try… then I forgot about it… then I saw someone re-pin it and I once again couldn’t wait to try it. We created Christmas works of art, recreating the lights on our tree or on houses.

All you need is a marker, some thick paper such as card stock, and a good washable paint.

I drew a line on a piece of paper with black marker. I added their names to the bottom of their papers, I was hoping to maybe have a keepsake if they were “perfect”. You know “perfect” that perfect Pinterest look that only a child adult can do.

Gauge fell asleep before he could do his. (I thought it would be a good time to get his hand/foot prints for his baby book too, but it didn’t happen.)

I put some paint down on an old pizza pan and gave them their paper.

Told them the general idea, use your finger prints to make Christmas lights, like those on the tree.

Austin’s finished product. I added another string of lights to go with her finger prints. You could also just do finger prints and then add the “string”.

Beautiful works of art by my beautiful children. These would be great for making your own Christmas cards, to frame and give as gifts to grandparents.
