Everyday we have a lesson in weather and seasons in our home. The day doesn’t start off too sunny, then again the official sun rise isn’t until 8:02am. It’s kind of like a guessing game, will it be sunny, cloudy or, help me please, snow?
While it is still Fall, the temperatures are low, just two nights ago it was -20+°C. Afternoon temperatures only getting as high as 1-5°C, brr!
But then looking back at last year’s photos, I realize that we’re really lucky this fall so far. We have only had few light dusting of snow so far thankfully.
Amazing the difference between this year and last. It does give me a little hope that this winter won’t be a bad as last year!
I wrote this using a prompt from Mama’s Losin’ It’s Writer’s Workshop. The prompt I chose was ” A blog post inspired by the word: weather”.
A few activities that the kids and I have done that involve weather are:
Weather in a Jar
Weather in a Jar Part 1: Tornado
Some water and dish soap in a jar, swirl it around a bit and there you have it. A tornado.
Weather in a Jar Part 2: Rainbow in a Jar
Water in a clear container or jar, add shaving cream, and then have fun adding food coloring.
