The Organized Homeschool Life

Over the past few weeks I have noticed a certain recipe of mine being pinned like crazy! I, being rather pregnant,  get a craving for them each time I see that they have been pinned. But just thinking about gives me heartburn.

So, here is cookie that gives me heartburn just thinking about them: Poop Cookies! Here is the recipe in case you missed it before.

  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp cocoa
  • 3 cup oats
  • 1 cup coconut

Melt butter in a large pot, then add sugar, milk and cocoa. Stir well and often and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in oats and coconut. Working quickly, scoop spoon fulls onto wax paper covered cookie sheets and refrigerate.

I just might have to stock up on some Tums and milk and deal with the heartburn. These would make a great snack for watching TV  doing homework tonight. They are a hit in this house, an eat them while they are still there, otherwise they’ll be gone!

Have you tried them yet? What’s your favorite cookie recipe?

They have a lot of fiber so they are definitely “poop cookies”. Do you have to keep them refrigerated?

I think it depends on where you are, and the temp of your house. In the summer I would say to yes keep them refrigerated, but in the winter maybe not. My mother in law doesn’t keep hers in the fridge ever. Ours don’t last long enough to make a difference!
