Summer has finally arrived, not only on the calendar but also in weather. We have been enjoying beautiful sunny days, warm nights and mornings that no longer require turning the furnace on to take the chill off. With summer here our “normal” daily schedule has changed.
Now we are enjoying the outside at least twice a day. We bought a cheap $10 kids pool from Wal-Mart and, of course, filled it with water. All other outside toys have lost any interest that they had and instead it is all about the pool. Brookland especially wastes no time getting in the pool no matter what she is wearing. In the time it takes me to walk through the gate and latch it behind us she is sitting in the middle of it.
In the mornings, before lunch we head out, fully dressed to wear off of energy. Since I don’t have a clothes line I have a drying rack sitting in our driveway at all times for laundry. When it’s time to head inside they strip off their wet stuff so I can ring it out and let it dry. These clothes usually end up back on them after they hit the pool in the afternoon.
In the morning, I’m usually hanging out our laundry or tidying up the yard, but in the afternoon I’m planted in the shady. Perfect time for getting caught up on the blogging related stuff I ignore while trying to get school work done.
How is your summer going so far?
