For the last few months I have been doing one thing for myself every few weeks. I have been getting gel nails again. A little quiet time away from my girls and actually doing something for myself. If any of you know me, you know I hate spending money on myself, no new shoes or clothes, and when I have to buy myself something I feel guilty. I know a lot of moms feel the same way.
I loved having my nails done before I had Austin, and I had gotten them done a bit while on maternity leave and again for my wedding. Never an all the time thing.
Last week I got my nails filled for the first time since our move, and not even two weeks later they were lifting and just not meeting my standards for $40 and 2 hours of my life. Enter a commercial on TV for Sally Hansen at home Gel Nails. We checked out the price, and it was reasonably price, quite good conpared to the $40+ I was paying every few weeks. Instead of getting the one I originally saw I ended up with Sally Hansen Salon Gel Polish – a gel manicure started kit with up to 10 manicures that last up to 2 weeks. SOLD! A little more pricey but so worth it in compariance.
It shows what you are getting and the steps to do it right there in store by lifting the flap.
I can’t believe how simple it was to do. I did it at naptime, 40 minutes later I was done my first at home gel manicure. I love the look of it!
I wrote this post as soon as I was finished my nails, didn’t post because I wanted include how well it lasts. It lasted really well, not quite the two weeks promised but my nails are incredibly thin right from months of manicures. I see no reason it won’t last the full two weeks once my nails are thicker.
I did my toes as well, and they look the same as when I did them, more than two weeks later. No matter how many times I’ve stubbed my toes they remain chip free.
I plan to buy some of the Sally Hansen Gel strips soon to try!
Disclaimer: I bought this myself. It is not a sponsored post!
