Peanut Butter and Nutella Meet

I want to bake! I don’t want to eat it all though. We haven’t been baking nor eating the yummy sweet goodness that comes from baking all that much, aside from a little at Christmas. Which is great for us. Then I made cookies for the kids. I’m not great at making cookies but I am great at eating cookies. Love peanut butter, hate nutella. I figured peanut butter and nutella cookies would be okay to make, eat one or two and I’d be done with them. And that is exactly, what… I… did. Okay, maybe I ate a lot few more than one or two.

In the mood to bake, a couple of the boys I watch over I thought I’d make them a New Years Eve snack. I found a recipe online for some cookies, but oh my waist line, I couldn’t bare to make them. I wrote the recipe down and stared at it wondering if I was really going to eat feed these to my kids. Then I started subtracting a little and subbing. Maybe I should have left the recipe alone, then maybe I wouldn’t have enjoyed them so much?

Here is what I made:

  • 3/4 c unsweetened apple sauce
  • 2 egg whites (whites because I used the yolks earlier & didn’t want to waste)
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 c brown sugar
  • 3/4 c white sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 2/3 c flour
  • 2/3 c peanut butter
  • 1/3 c Nutella

I mixed everything in in that order (except for the  baking soda, I admit I forgot it until the very end. Not my finest move.) Now you don’t want to over mix it. I did, but only because of the a fore mentioned goof up.

Place in preheated oven at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Then give them away, run and hide until your family eats them all or something. ‘Cause they are good even if you don’t like Nutella. Peanut Butter and Nutella Cookies
