Jello Playdough

Playdough is winter’s best friend in our house. It’s too cold to go outside all that much, so we find ways to stay entertained all the time. Playdough is a big one here.

I making it a few times a month, not because it goes bad, but because so much ends up on the floor and then in the garbage.

Jello Play dough

I went to make playdough today and couldn’t believe when I searched my blog that I hadn’t shared this recipe. Ugh! I always search here first for recipes for my kids for couple reason. 1. No searching or racking my brain. 2. So if I haven’t shared it, once I think of it, I can share it. Jello playdough is simple, and smells so good.

Jello Playdough Recipe(My pan is a mess because this is my second batch, it’s not messy to make, I promise!)

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cream of tarter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 Jello package

Mix everything in a pan with high sides or a pot.

Keep stirring over medium heat. You don’t want to burn it.

Ready to come out of the pan. Let it cool for a few minutes, then knead it until it is smooth.

It smells so delicious. I tend to make one for each flavor that I have in the house. And since I’m not good at making actually Jello, we tend to have packet laying around. I keep trying to make Jello.
