Every year in July my family has a Horseshoe Tournament, just for fun, even though there are a couple trophies (that makes sense, right?). This is in memory of a great woman, mother, grandmother and friends that passed away after a tragic accident on Christmas day/eve. She slipped and fell going down the stairs. Something so simple and so tragic. I was 7 months pregnant with Austin at the time.
So, now there is a fun, family and friend filled day in July. We try to get there each year, this probably was our last year for a while. The girls had lots of fun. There were lots of pictures taken, but, as my children do not sit still long there were a lot of deleted blurry pictures.
Group picture of my mom, girls and me.
Not a good pictures, but the only recent one we have.
Brookland eating a ham & cheese sandwich. She really surprise me here. This was just moments before my aunt’s dog run up and swiped her sandwich from her hand. She was not happy.
Austin and Grand-dad playing in the backyard.
Sleepy girl. She was too nosy, too busy, and wouldn’t sleep.
We had a great visit, I only shed a few tears saying good-byes for the last time before we leave.
*Note: no actual picture of the playing of horseshoes. Reason: I don’t like horseshoes and have no interest in watching let alone taking pictures, plus getting close enough to get a good picture means I could get hit with one. I go for the fun and seeing of everyone.*

so very sorry to hear of your loss.
I love Family Traditions! We have one in honour of my Aunt and I know that she’d be happy that we were all together having a great time.
