Apple Crisp – From My Microwave

Let me start by saying, I use my oven a LOT. I didn’t realize it until the element went while putting the finishing touches on supper (aka keeping it warm). Of course no one in town sells the size and shape that we needed. That left ordering it online, expensive, by the time the extra taxes and was added we were looking at $75. Instead, Hubby found one on E-Bay for $35, shipped! Down side: it is taking at least a month to get here. In fact it might not be here for A’s birthday party, she asked for me to make her a Princess Castle, Momma has some work ahead of her oven or no oven.

Long story short, I want to be able to make some sweets and desserts so trusty internet to the rescue.

Apple Crisp (straight from my microwave)

3 large apples, peeled, cored & sliced
1/2 cup butter/margarine, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup oats
1 tsp cinnamon

Place apples in a microwave safe dish such as a pie pan. Mix together the rest of the ingredients and spread over the apples. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, or until apples are tender.

This tasted quite good, not as great as if it were baked in an oven but it did the job.

Please excuse the look of my microwave, this made a bit of a mess, hence the changes to the recipe so this doesn’t happen to you.

Now, I did get this recipe from a website, I altered it, different amounts. The mess in my microwave can attest  to the amounts needing to be changed.
