Our new little bundle of pink joy, B. Born May 10th.
Our little girl made a very speedy appearance. I started having contractions at 12:30am, waited half an hour before waking up Hubby, just to make sure that they were the real thing and not going away like every other time. My contractions started out coming every 3 minutes and before I got Hubby up were every two minutes. Thankfully (and this is the only time I’ll ever say it) my mother-in-law is a kilometer down the road so she came to stay with A.
I was 3 cm when we got to the hospital (2:05 am), I wanted drugs for the pain I knew was coming but I didn’t want to have it too soon. STUPID!! They couldn’t decide what to give me for pain, because I had A in 6 1/2 hours. An hour later (3:05am), I was 5 cm, still no drugs. They put an IV needle in because they finally decided what to give me. My amazing nurse, who was my nurse with A, who almost delivered A, told me to let her know if I needed to push. I remember thinking “I can’t push at 5 cm, I’ll damage myself.” Then I let her know I needed to push, I was 9 cm when she started to check me, had a contraction and was 10 cm.
Hubby was down the hall in the bathroom. My father heard me yell for Hubby from down the hall. He made it in time, laughing because I barely let him use the bathroom.
At 3:19 am, just 14 minutes after being 5 cm, without the on-call doctor, I delivered a healthy beautiful baby girl weighing 6lbs 11oz and 20 inches. Oh, that IV they put, in came back out, without ever being used.
If I have another child, I want the drugs right away please.
I won’t say our children’s names as they are quite uncommon. In fact I have never before heard of B’s name being spelt this way. So this is what I did last week. I hope everyone had a great week.
I guess I should add that my IntelliGender GPT was wrong, but I still had fun doing it and wondering if it was right. You can find that post here.
