This morning I decided I was going to make pancakes, from scratch. Pancakes are a every once in a long while thing around here. A can’t have the pre-made mixes so Momma stepped up to the stove and got to work.
Once they were all cooked and staying warm in the oven I asked A to go wake Dada up, she ran as fast as she could to our bedroom. I lifted her up into the bed, … and then she curled up under the covers and settled in for a snuggle with Dada. This child never sits still long enough to cuddle.
I went back to the kitchen to get DF coffee ready and myself a cup of tea, back to the bedroom and she is STILL snuggled in bed. Thanks to the bowling ball effect mattress that we have I was able to crawl back into bed as well… WRONG! Minute later I hear giggles, from A not DF. Then the belly laughs start and she’s crawling over Dada to tickle Momma. We had lots of laughs and tickles until our dog Luca decided enough was enough he needed out.
I would love this to happen every Sunday, the only day of the week that we all can relax a little in the mornings together, but I know it is unlikely. Which is why this morning was so special. Oh, and the pancakes were quite good.
