Living Without Regrets

My name is Ashley, and I can honestly say I have no regrets about anything that I have done. I chose to live without regrets and instead look at it as everything that has happened has lead up to this moment and the life I am living now.

If life had been different, I was unhappy with my life then maybe, probably I would have a lot of regrets. But as it is, I have two healthy, beautiful children, a great husband and amazing family.

Every step I have taken in my life, friends I had or have, jobs, vacations, education, everything, lead to where I am today and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. [Read more...]

What Do I Miss

There are some things that I am missing right, silly little things, about living back in Nova Scotia.
Here are few things I miss:

  • being to call my sister-in-law or mother-in-law to borrow an ingredient if I run out in the middle of cooking/baking
  • being able to go for a walk almost any time of the year
  • going across the road to vent when the kids or hubby have driven me crazy
  • driving. I had my own vehicle, I could go to town or just get out of the house anytime I wanted. The girls and I weren’t stuck home all the time.
  • free meals! Haha! Being invited home to my parents house or in-laws for supper… no cooking required. [Read more...]

What I’m Reading

I am a lover of books. I can, and will, read almost any genre of book. I haven’t always liked reading, I know there was a time when my mother couldn’t get me to read, not for a lack of trying. I would get a bedtime story at night, Bernstein Bears were a favorite, but as I got older, I didn’t like reading.

It wasn’t until my early teens that I started reading again. I have no idea what book or books caught my interest and had be reading again.

I don’t buy a lot of books, but I do buy Nora Roberts’ books, they are also the only books I won’t lend out, or get rid of. I have been reading her books for as long as I can remember enjoying reading, 14-15ish years old maybe. I am currently waiting on April to arrive along with a new book to add to my collection. Checking my Bucket List Twice

This post took a lot of thought, I had never sat down and thought about what I want to do before I “kick the bucket”. There are a lot of things I’d love to do, how important they are to do is a different matter. I listed some things, most important, what I want more at the top of the list going to the maybe – that’d be nice ones. So here is my bucket list so far.

  • Take my children to Disney World
  • Take a trip to Ireland – I don’t know why, but I just want to
  • Go to a blog conference
  • Own my own business
  • Travel to Nova Scotia via the USA
  • Get a few more tattoos – something with my children’s names [Read more...]

Pet Peeves Oh My

We all have them. Some more rational than others. Thankfully I don’t have to go out around other people that much so it definitely helps. Here are my pet peeves! I don’t think I have all that many, but I guess we’ll see once I am done writing.

  • Self photos. I will hide you on Facebook if you have a new self pic everyday! Find something better to take a picture of please.

  • Someone saying they’ll do something and then not doing it. (Hubby!)
  • Strangers that expect my children to talk to them.
  • Spending an hour cleaning the house, to have someone come in and undo my hard work in seconds.
