We’ve been watching hockey with our kids forever. Austin really gets into, they all have their jerseys or shirt with our team logos on them. Big fans!
We’ve been taking our girls to the local skating rink at least a couple times every weekend. Austin is doing so great, she definitely has the athletic ability that I don’t have and takes to just about every sport activity going. Brookland is also doing really good. For a little girl that falls down when she walks (like her Momma) she’s doing great!
They are both begging for hockey sticks… because they can just stand up so they need pieces of wood in their hands to poke their eyes out, of course. And of course, those hockey sticks are on their way, should arrive tomorrow as I ordered them some online. Crazy Momma here!
Anyways, earlier this week we went to a local hockey game. It was the first game we’ve gone to.
Austin was beyond excited! I couldn’t stop watching her watch the game. She was very into the whole thing.
Brookland was into the first period, ready to leave during the second, and dancing like a wild woman during the third. This is her dancing… hence the blur…
Gauge was great through the first and second periods and and so ready to leave during the third.
My favorite thing, besides my children’s enjoyment, was watching the small little hockey players out on the ice. These little ones were maybe 5 years old and played a little game of their own. So cute. And perhaps the reason my girls are so intent on wanting sticks.
Our team lost. But it was a great experience and Austin is begging to go to see Montreal Canadiens play, but since that would involve travel expenses and really expensive tickets, its not happening this year.

It’s awesome that they are so excited about it and that you are encouraging them! We used to have a semi-pro team down here on the Gulf Coast, and we went to a few games. I had more fun watching my husband than I did watching the games!
We went again last night (will be going to their last game tonight) and it is so much fun to watch the kids reactions. Gauge was looking the goalie up and down when he was benched… maybe a future goalie was sitting on my lap. 😉
Fun! We recently took the kids to a hockey game and the men were straight up pounding each other. I was so astonished at the fighting and how everyone just stood by and let them finish! I think I’d prefer watching little ones play instead!
Great enjoyable weekend!
My weekend also can’t complete without my kids on the filed. Love it.
