We recently moved (October 2014) to a small village. There is very little here, a tiny post office where you get your mail, can buy a book of stamps and that’s it, a small bank, a gas station and to our surprise, a rink. It is a natural rink so the ice isn’t perfectly smooth, it is maintained with the windows open to keep it cold. But, for two little girls whom have never skated before, it perfect.
Gauge gets around the ice pretty darn good too, in his stroller.
This little miss (Austin) on her first time out did amazing! She gets around without the skating aid!
This little miss (Brookland) was terrified of falling and was very shaky on her skates. On her first couple days out we had to hold her up as you can see in the next picture.
She did get much better after a few times out. She barely needs the aid, more as a security blanket.
Hubby went back and forth between skates and boots. This skates were brand new and, being his first time on ice in 15 years, they were killing his feet. I am not on skates, ever. I have a hard time walking in shoes/boots.
