Their smiling faces, dirty or clean, can make me smile at the worst times. Seeing the joy on their faces, throughout their body at something as simple as finding their favorite toy, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or a special treat. There is nothing that can make make me as happy, or sad, as my children do.
They are growing and learning everyday. Surprising me with the knowledge they have of their world from us, I know we are doing something right when my four year old says something smart, quick and correct, and it is happening a lot more. Such as, “I’m buzzing like a bug; bugs don’t stop buzzing because they like to bug. You can’t spank a bug’s bum though Dadda, cause it is too small.” You are right sweet child, they are too small.
My children are my happy place. They remind me why I do everything I do. I am working on educating myself to be happy and provide for them doing something I enjoy. They are the reason I no longer want to provide childcare or work with individuals with special needs. I don’t want to use every ounce of my patience or happiness on someone else and not be able to to give it to them.
I am proud to be their mom.
