Pulled Chicken Juicy Burger + BBQ Sauce

What’s more filling than a thick juicy pulled chicken burger? Not too much in my opinion. I have been making this for quite a while, though not that often, I don’t want to ruin a good, simple thing. How much easy is it? That’s just like the patty melt, you don’t want it too often, or it just wouldn’t be that good anymore.

I think this is a great meal for those days when you’re not sure what to make. Great for anytime of the year… who doesn’t want a burger in the burger, right? Plus the bonus is you aren’t standing over a hot stove or BBQ. Add a side of potato salad and it is an amazing summer supper.

What you need to make the BBQ sauce:

How to make Homemade BBQ sauce:

Mix all the ingredients together in a small sauce pot and simmer on low on for 15 minutes.

What you need to make Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken Burger:

  • 2lb chicken breasts – bonesless, skinless
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 cup of your BBQ sauce

How to make Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken Burger

Take your boneless, skinless chicken breast and put them in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add some diced onions for extra flavor. (I add onions to everything I made, slow cooker or not.)

Add a cup of BBQ to the top, it can be homemade BBQ sauce or store bought. Set your crock pot to low for 8 hours, or high for 3-5 hours.

About 20 minutes or so before you are ready to eat, take the chicken out of your slow cooker, and shred it with forks, just pull it all apart into bit-size pieces. Put it back into the slow cooker, stir it around with the BBQ sauce. Feel free to add more BBQ if you’d like.

When you are ready to eat pile it on top of a bun, top with some cheese, fried or crispy onions or anything else you’d like. Add a side of home fries or salad, and enjoy!

Pulled Chicken & Homemade BBQ Sauce

I have, as I said before, made this quite a bit. I’ve used store bought BBQ sauces, and homemade sauces, and I’m sure you can guess which I prefer. That’s right, the homemade. Here is a copy of my favorite homemade BBQ sauce. We use it for anything that calls for BBQ sauce, including BBQing.
