Yes, We Named You After …

My two beautiful girls weren’t named after anyone, but because we loved the names. Austin was simple, Brookland took a little thought but from the moment I heard it, there was no question.

Your name is Austin, and you are a beautiful little girl. Not a boy like the majority of the Austins out there.

“If it’s anybody else, wait for the tone,
You know what to do
And P.S. if this is Austin, I still love you”

Blake Shelton’s Austin came out in 2001 I think it was, I loved it, I wanted to name a little girl Austin and everyone thought I was crazy! An hour or so a way someone else felt the same way. Who knew we’d end up together and have a little girl to name Austin in 2009?!

Your name is Brookland, and if you ever meet another with the same name, Momma’s jaw will hit the floor. You are not Brooklynn or any variation of it, you are Brookland. You know, after the car.

Did we set out to name you after a car? Not really, we going for a theme. If Brookland had been a boy we had Brantley picked out. Then the theme would have been Music, as it is we have cars, because we all have heard of the car.

So there you have it my daughters. One of you were named from a song another a car. In reality you weren’t actually named for them, we just liked the names so much. They are unique just like you. :-)

Your Names

This was another post written using one of Mama Kat’s Prompts.

How did you decide on names for your children?
