When we started taking Austin out to play and adding to our (growing) collection of outside toys, we didn’t have a lot of choice as to where we could play. We set up out front with limited room, and my least favourite thing: close to the road.
One weekend about 2 months ago my father in-law came from down the road with his tractor and flattened our “back yard”. It was over grown when we bought the house 4 years ago and we had never bothered with it until now.
This looks horrible but, you see that rusty barrel? That is where our yard ended before! It opened up a lot of room.
We used the room for a small garden and green house, plus all our toys are in the back, away from the road.
Off to the side, there is a slight hill here leading to all the toys, but the girls have free run over here too.
I can hang clothes out or take them off the line while the girls play instead of them having to go in while I hang out clothes. (Hubby was standing there trying to figure out how to set up our shade/bug tent for the first time in 2 years!)
We have been loving these beautiful sunny days with a lot more room to run away and fun.
