Fun in the Park – Playground

This afternoon we spent some time at a somewhat local playground. We have only been there one other time and it was a short spur of the moment stop. Today we spent a good amount of time there, until a cranky teething baby got cranky. I took a LOT of photos with our camera, and Hubby took of bunch of photos and videos on his phone. The girls never stopped moving. Here are a few of the pictures we took of the playground its self, these pictures do not do it justice.

A wooden train, a large yellow off road truck (that yellow slide) is completely wooden by someone down the road from the playground. There are a number of riding toys and a couple slide in this area.

Windmill, it is currently locked as we don’t know if there is more to it, but there is a wheel chair ramp leading to the door which leads us to believe that there is or was something inside. To the left is a crooked house that has a suspended fishing net on one side for laying, walking and bouncing on. Austin is so curious about this but scared of getting hurt. There is also a playhouse with a slide in this picture too.

A teepee  with balls in the base. Lots of fun, how I wish I could fit in the hole with the girls! There is a jungle gym off to the side, more for the bigger children.

There is so much to do here, I don’t have pictures of one area (due to others being in the picture). There are slides hidden behind the wind mill, a pirate ship behind the bushes and so much more. In each area there are chairs, benches and/or picnic tables for parents supervising.

This playgroup seems to be a community project, all buildings, seating areas and equipment have donation plaques, all the toys look as though they were donated by families, in the parking area there is a donation box.  This playground in Metaghan is now our favourite place to go for an afternoon of family fun. {With the bonus of Tim Horton’s being within reach too.}
