Iced Tea for a Hot Day

Today is National Iced Tea Day. Iced Tea is one of my favourite cold drinks, what I usually order in a restaurant and the only thing I buy for myself to drink at home (besides milk).

A few weeks ago Hubby started drinking tea by taste testing all the types I have, including the Black Tea that I didn’t like. In the process we made Iced Tea. It is amazing! No more buying it, no more wishing we had some because we’ve got some, always now.

  • Boil 8 cups of water in a large, covered pot. Remove from heat.
  • Add two black tea tea bags and let steep for 1 hour.
  • After the hour, remove the tea bags, and pour your tea into a pitcher. Add 1/3 cup of lemon juice and a 1/3 cup of sugar, stir to mix thoroughly and chill.

Add more or less sugar and/or lemon to suit your taste, we don’t care for sweet tea but love the lemon taste.
